PETER WOODHAMS

The 22-year-old father of one was murdered outside his house after he had confronted a gang of youths at shops near to his home in Canning Town.

Mr Woodhams was nearly killed just seven months ago when he was held down, slashed across the face, and stabbed in the neck by a gang of youths near the same shops.

But the police didn't even bother to investigate !

His fiancee, Jane Bowden, phoned the police every day for five weeks following the knife attack, but officers never even bothered taking a statement from her !

They didn't bother collecting his blood stained clothes for forensic analysis until he was murdered - seven months after he was stabbed!

Jane Bowden said that she and Peter had been subjected to a campaign of intimidation since the stabbing.

They had been abused and pelted with stones.

They were always taunting us," she said. "They knew they had stabbed Peter and got away with it".

"They thought they were untouchable."

And when Peter confronted the thugs again they killed him.

Finally when it was far too late, when their own lack of action had caused murderous thugs to believe they were "untouchable", the police promised to do their job !

Scotland Yard apologised to Mr Woodhams' family for "any hurt" caused by the way police investigated the knife attack !

What an insult to Peter Woodhams memory !
