ABYSMAL FAILURES !

Showjumper Tania Moore endured a year of terror at the hands of Mark Dyche before he finally murdered her, ramming her car off the road and shooting her in the face in March 2004.

During this time Derby police totally failed to investigate her complaints, although she phoned them six times about harrassment and threats from Dyche.

Even when she was attacked in her own home by men hired by Mark Dyche, robbed and repeatedly hit with a baseball bat, the police didn't even bother to question Dyche about the robbery, even though Tania Moore named him!

A report by the IPCC into the way Derby police dealt with her complaints catalogued a string of "fundamental errors."

The investigation into the attack upon Tania Moore was signed off as undetected when, in reality, simple, basic lines of inquiry were never pursued!

They didn't bother to take key statements from Miss Moore, her family and other witnesses and didn't bother to obtain essential forensic samples!

In other words exactly the same kind of criminal incompetence and complacency which led to the murder of Peter Woodhams!

The police didn't bother to investigate when Tania Moore's mobile phone was stolen, or to investigate numerous threatening text messages from Dyche !

Even the fact that Mark Dyche had a history of violence towards women, including a conviction for threatening to kill his former wife and had access to lethal weapons because he had both a firearms certificate and a shotgun certificate wasn't enough for them to realise that Tania Moore was in terrible danger!

Finally, when once again it was much too late, the police acted !

One DC was dismissed, one DI was demoted and four other officers were "reprimanded," but even though they "apologised" to the family the police farce refused to name the guilty officers!

Only one word can describe Derby police - ABYSMAL !!!
