Rickell Patterson stabbed commuter Timothy Smith to death after Smith, 38, stepped back to read an electronic timetable at a bus stop and got in the way of Patterson who was riding his bike.

Enraged, Patterson, 16, pulled out a kitchen knife and plunged it into Mr Smith's chest before riding off, leaving him bleeding to death in front of dozens of onlookers.

At Nottingham Crown Court yesterday, Patterson, now 17, was sentenced to life and ordered to serve a minimum of 14 years in jail after being convicted of murder. (Rickell Patterson)

So, once again in NuLab's Britain, a decent honest man is murdered by a useless thug who was "enraged" because someone accidentally bumped into him!

And instead of doing what any reasonable person would do and simply cycling on he pulls out a kitchen knife he just happens to be carrying and stabs an innocent man to death!

More and more such scum are literally getting away with murder because Rickell Patterson will probably be released from jail after less than ten years, such is NuLab's lack of concern when it comes to protecting decent human beings!

Last night Timothy Smith's family called for tougher sentencing for knife crime.

His brother Chris, 42, said: "Every time I look at a knife, a small knife, an ordinary knife, I wonder was it like this...it haunts me. He was touched by pure evil that day and we are the ones serving the life sentence.

"This is the reality of knife crime, this poison, what it leaves behind and destroys...where is the real deterrent, the penalty for carrying knives?"

The answer to that is simple.

Unless and until we get REAL punishments for REAL crimes including the return of the Death Penalty, there is no deterrent for crimes and scum like Rickell Patterson will continue to murder decent people like Timothy Smith who just happened to get in the way of a mindless thug who just "happened" to be carrying a knife!
