Thousands of major criminals have been left off the PNC because Home Office officials couldn't be bothered to transfer their details !

27,000 files on Britons convicted of major crimes abroad, including 500 dangerous criminals, were simply left sitting on Home Office shelves gathering dust for years!

And because their details were not transferred to the PNC these criminals, including 25 rapists, are free to apply for jobs in Britain, including working with vulnerable children, with no way for anyone to know about their crimes!

It really beggars belief that Home Office officials with their secure jobs and inflation-proofed pensions just couldn't be bothered!

But of course it is actually those secure jobs and inflation proofed pensions which have created what has to be one of the most unbelievably incompetent government departments there is!

The fact that this is the department responsible for fighting crime is one of the reasons for the explosion of all kinds of crime under New Labour!

Every day the Home Office lurches from one blunder to another, totally incapable of any kind of competent action against anything at all!

Unbelievably a Home Office spokeswoman said that Mr Reid and other ministers were unaware of the "backlog" until today - as if that were an excuse for such unbelievable incompetence!

And, equally unbelievably, the Home Office website says "The Home Office works to build a safe, just and tolerant society, by putting protection of the public at the heart of everything it does."

Except of course where that protection means actually doing the job for which these moronic incompetents are receiving their salaries and inflation proofed pensions!

The only way that this department will ever be made to do the job it is supposed to do, is to make every one working there, ESPECIALLY MINISTERS, accountable, AND SACKABLE, for hideous failure like this!
