Jacqui Smith - NuLab liar!

The head of the Home Office has admitted in a leaked document that the Government has failed to reduce serious violent crime over the past decade, and also show that Jacqui Smith deliberately fudged the figures on violent crime! (Jacqui Smith lied!)

In a paper marked "Restricted Policy", Sir David Normington, the Department"s top civil servant, admits that under Labour the levels of the most violent crimes such as murder, serious assaults and rape are higher than they were in 1997, even though Jacqui Smith claimed that they were falling!

The Home Office admitted last night that its own figures showed there were 14,000 serious violent offences in 1997-98 and 16,000 in 2007-08.

In July, Jacqui Smith claimed that all types of violent crime had fallen substantially since 1997, even though a Home Office expert had revealed just a year ago that the figures produced by the BCS were fudged and that violent crime was really 82% higher than the government claimed!

And on July 17, even though she must have known she was lying, Jacqui Smith repeated her claim that violence had dropped by 40 per cent since 1997, "with a 12 per cent fall in the last year alone".

Shadow Home Secretary Dominic Grieve said last night: Jacqui Smith's claim that violent crime is down has been dealt a fatal blow!"

A Home Office spokeswoman said: "The most recent statistics show that recorded crime has fallen by six per cent in the last year. The chance of being a victim of crime is at its lowest level ever"

So even though a home office expert said a year ago that violent crime was UP, and even though THEIR OWN TOP CIVIL SERVANT has admitted it, New Labour is still lying about the REAL scale of violent crime and desperately hoping that someone, somewhere will believe them!

And as the TRUE figures show the chance of being a victim of violence is getting worse every day and the only things which are at their lowest level ever is this lying government's reputation and the chance that a NuLab minister will ever actually tell the REAL truth about crime - or anything else!
