A convicted armed robber has won £700,000 compensation for himself and nearly 200 other prisoners after claiming that their human rights had been breached - because they were not supplied with drugs in jail !

Peter Groves was convicted in 2002 of armed robbery and jailed for eight years after just having been released from a 12-year sentence for attacking a jeweller.

Groves had poured petrol over the terrified man, then took him to his shop where he was forced to hand over £250,000 in gems.

But because he was forced to go "cold turkey" in jail, receiving only 2 days supply of drugs, he claimed HIS "Human Rights" were violated !

Strange he didn't worry about the Human Rights of the man he threatened to burn alive !

Naturally our gutless Home Office caved in and rewarded him and 200 other inmates £700,000 compensation !

On the same day Richard Fitzmaurice, a 75 year old ex-soldier who had never poured petrol over anyone was thrown into jail for refusing to pay his council tax!

He refused to pay his council tax in protest at soaring bills and his local authority 'wasting' money, including the fact that taxpayers' money had been used to pay a legal bill run up by Conservative council leader John Dobson who claimed that the council had been justified in pursuing the pensioner !

The most sickening thing of all was that he was jailed the day after poppy day - when the nation remembers the sacrifices of such men - or is supposed to !

So a pensioner is jailed over a £1,300 council bill while convicted criminals get almost three times that amount - all in the name of "Human Rights" !

But of course in Blair's Britain the REAL Human Rights of old soldiers like Richard Fitzmaurice count for nothing while the "Human Rights" of inhuman scum like Peter Groves count for everything !
