PAUL LAWSON ARRESTED!

Retired Metropolitan police officer Paul Lawson learnt the true state of British justice when he dared to challenge thugs who threw a beer can at his car late at night.

He was going to make a citizen's arrest, but when the thugs surrounded him and threatened to kill him he backed down.

He reported the incident in Morpeth to two police officers on patrol in the area, but they refused to take action. (Paul Lawson)

One of the gang later claimed to have been assaulted by Mr Lawson and this time Northumbria Police DID intervene - they arrested HIM for an "assault" on the thugs who had attacked and threatened to kill him!

Even though the patrolling officers hadn't bothered to take the former Metropolitan police officer's details, once the thugs made a complaint they went into overdrive and traced Paul through his car registration number.

When he later responded to a request to go to the police station he was arrested, held in a cell for two hours, had his fingerprints and a DNA sample taken and finally released on bail.

After a delay of several weeks a decision was made to take no further action against him.

He is furious that the yobs who threatened him have never been brought to justice and described the actions of Northumbria Police as an 'utter disgrace"!

Ironically, before he retired after a 30 year career in the Met, Paul Lawson worked as an Inspector in the Professional Standards Unit and his job involved investigating the conduct of police officers!

He said: "I still can't believe this...As far as I am concerned, they just abrogated their responsibility and should be ashamed of themselves...up to today, I have not heard about any action taken against the youths who threatened me...I am very angry about the whole experience...I could have acted as a professional witness and perhaps got rid of yobs who at times are the scourge of Morpeth."

But, as Paul Lawson found out, under NuLab's "protect-a-thug" mentality, thugs have become "untouchable" and the only guilty ones are the victims - like Paul Lawson!
