And for his bravery Paul Yarwood was sacked by One Railway, could lose his house since he cannot pay the mortgage, and after six months of worry was yesterday forced to accept a police caution rather than appear in court and possibly go to jail after he, NOT THE THUG WHO ATTACKED HIM, was charged with threatening behaviour!

The incident occurred on June 7, at Colchester North Station, Essex when a man jumped over a ticket barrier, abused station staff then illegally lit up a cigarette on a waiting train, grabbed a supervisor who asked him to leave, threatened another member of staff with a broom and told a traveller he would punch him.

Paul Yarwood escorted passengers to safety then he confronted the thug who attacked him and knocked him to the ground, and as he was trying to get up, according to onlookers, their heads briefly touched.

And for THAT he was sacked for "gross misconduct" by One Railway who claimed that a six second CCTV clip of the incident showed that he had headbutted the thug!

And later, Paul Yarwood, the hero who had stood up to a drunken abusive thug to protect passengers, was questioned by the police and charged with threatening behaviour, while the thug who attacked him got away with an £80 fine FOR SMOKING, even though he admitted, in a taped interview that he was entirely to blame for the incident and did not feel any action should be taken against Mr Yarwood!

Paul's wife Maria said at the time that it was a farce, that Paul was shattered by it, their lives had been ruined and they had been forced to put their house up for sale after being unable to pay the mortgage - and all because Paul Yarwood was a hero!

But of course that doesn't count because no matter how much the government prattles on about people tackling thugs, the reality is that in today's lunatic criminal justice system, a drunken abusive thug is considered more important than a hero who dares to tackle him in order to protect others!
