The operation began when a youngster was accused of keeping £700 raised for Comic Relief.

Instead of recording just one crime, CSOs interviewed all the people who had pledged money on his sponsorship form and in that way they logged an unbelievable 542 different crimes - then let him off with a warning - thus "solving" 542 crimes in one fell swoop !

The Police Federation's conference in Blackpool was told of these and other cases from various officers who claimed they were under pressure to solve as many minor crimes as possible so New Labour could claim more crimes were being solved ! (Full story here)

Simon Reed, a senior official, said officers were being pressurised to come down on every single misdemeanour and Sam Roberts, a sergeant from North Wales police said that in her force officers received only five points for an arrest, but 20 points for handing out an on the spot fine !

Since a fine was considered "case closed", but an arrest involved piles of paperwork officers were encouraged to play down the seriousness of an offence in order to be "solve" it quickly and gain more points !

More and more officers are calling for the scrapping of targets which they say have left them with no discretionary powers to simply tell a child off for misbehaving.

Instead, because officers have to meet monthly targets and get points for their work they have to take "ludicrous" decisions to give a fixed penalty notice or formal warning so they can chalk up a "solved" crime.

And while New Labour trumpets about how well they are solving crimes the truth behind their lies is that more and more innocent people, including children, are being criminalised, while their targets are not reducing crime, merely changing minor crimes into major ones, while REAL crimes are being ignored in the lunatic scramble for meaningless points !

But the ultimate crime is the deliberate waste of tens of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money and resources to fraudulently claim 542 crimes were solved when only ONE crime was solved !
