PCSOs hid behind a tree!

A senior police officer questioned the effectiveness of PCSOs after it was revealed that two PCSOs hid behind a tree as a man was being attacked by three girls. (Cowardly PCSOs)
Mrs Ann Ward, a 59 year-old great-grandmother who rushed to help the man while the officers did nothing said "it was disgusting, any other men would have stepped in to help." The attack happened in Ravensbury Park near Morden when three girls asked the man the time then attacked him, hitting him across the back of the head with a stick, then proceeded to kick and punch him.
Mrs Ward, who rushed to help the man, said the PCSOs told her they were there "to report the crime to the police and take notes." The Met confirmed it was investigating a complaint alleging the support officers only radioed for help when asked why they had not taken any action.
Scotland Yard has launched a 'Gold Command' meeting and put Assistant Commissioner Tim Godwin in charge of the investigation, where a senior officer said "This could not be more embarrassing for the Met." "PCSOs might not have been able to arrest these girls but they could have at least prevented this man from being beaten up, instead, they are accused of hiding behind a tree. If this is found to be true, it really shows the ineffectiveness of PCSOs." This latest embarrasment comes just a few weeks after two PCSOs stood by while
Jordan Lyon drowned and just a few days after a Unison official said that the
PCSO's uniforms should be changed and wanted them to be more like a REAL police uniform!
They have also come in for ridicule after Thames Valley Police recruited a 17 year old Muslim girl and two 16 year-old boys as PCSOs. It is claimed that the role of the PCSOs is intended to reassure communities by bolstering police numbers on the frontline.
