Ben Hitchcock

Ben Hitchcock, a pupil at Kelsey Park Sports College, was the victim of an organised gang fight late Saturday evening after being turned away from a party in Beckenham, Kent.
More than 200 people had turned up for the party, including Ben and five friends, but the police had been called to shut it down, and on their way home they ran into a gang fight between two South London gangs, the Penge Boys and the Young Thugs.
Ben, who was a member of a rival gang, was dragged into the road, beaten, attacked with poles and broken bottles, the thugs repeatedly stamped on his head and as he staggered to his feet he was impaled on spiked railings, then as he broke free from them he was stabbed in the back by the rampaging thugs and left dying in the street!
A horrified passer-by, Lorraine Amwari, described how he asked for his mother: "All he could say was 'call my mum, please call my mum' as he lay there." (

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 23.26 on Saturday June 23 to reports of a fight in the street, now believed to have been between two gangs in Southend Road, Beckenham."
Ben was pronounced dead after being taken to Lewisham Hospital where a post mortem revealed he died of a single stab wound to the abdomen. Ben's mother, Lee Hitchcock, said: 'My son was loved very much by his family and friends...Ben was the kindest, happiest and most loving boy...he had the rest of his life before him."
But like so many others these days that life was cut short by murdering thugs to whom life, especially other people's, means nothing at all! "I appeal to anyone who knows who killed my Ben to get in touch with the police. We must know the truth about what happened."
The tragic truth is that Ben Hitchcock is just another statistic in the ever escalating number of young people who have become the victims, not just of the scum who now think nothing about murdering others, but of the entire legal system which helped create these scum in the first place!
