Devon Pinnock was jailed for eight years for causing the death of nurse Tina Boucher while trying to eascape from the police.

Tina Boucher, 38, a mother of four, died instantly in the horrific smash while two other passengers suffered horrendous injuries.

Two months before the crash which killed Mrs Boucher, he had lost control of a stolen car and ploughed into a parked vehicle. He was banned from driving and given a community order - but failed to carry out a single hour of it.

Outside court, Mrs Boucher's mother Janet, 59, wept with rage as she said: "That man took my daughter's life when the fact is he shouldn't have been out on the streets...I can't understand why he was allowed out when he had done this sort of thing so many times before. He should have been in jail instead of being behind the wheel of a car!" (Devon Pinnock)

Sergeant Jon White, from the Road Policing Unit, said: 'Whilst police have no jurisdiction over what sentences judges pass, it is very frustrating when you see people come out of court free having been convicted of very serious offences.

Devon Pinnock was driving a friend's high-powered VW Golf GTI at up to 100mph on January 18 this year when, trying to flee police, he ploughed head-on into Mrs Boucher's car as she waited in traffic.

Mrs Boucher, a psychiatric nurse, was thrown from the car and died instantly, Manchester Crown Court heard. Two passengers in the back of the Citroen Saxo were also hurled from the vehicle and suffered brain injuries and fractured necks.

Police discovered he had three previous convictions for joyriding and served a five-year ASBO for bringing misery to his neighbourhood, but had never been jailed.

And that says it all doesn't it?

Another useless thug is allowed to escape jail time after time, laughing at the law, causing misery to everyone around him until he finally kills a decent woman - and he doesn't even get the maximum sentence, which means he will probably be out in less than four years - and who will Devon Pinnock kill next time?
