Two boys aged just 13 and 14 have been charged with the murder of Jack Large of Yeoman Way, Grange Hill in Chigwell who was fatally stabbed in the head with a screwdriver at 11pm on Friday and died in hospital on Sunday. (Jack Large)

The murder occurred on the Limes Farm Estate in Grange Hill, where, despite the fact that residents have complained of gangs terrorising the streets, the Essex police "community office" on the Estate is only open one day a week and not on Fridays or Saturdays when youths congregate at nearby shops !

In September residents demanded better policing, complaining the estate was "out of control" with stabbings, violence and gangs of teenagers gatecrashing local discos.

But Essex police said the "police community office," described as a "joke" by a boy from the estate, was small and would not meet the requirements for health and safety or disabled access so could not be used as a regular police station and was used for neighbourhood officers to write reports or discuss "sensitive negative issues" with residents.

District Commander Chief Inspector Ivor Harvey said "The district has four police stations, one of which is four miles away in Loughton and is open around the clock. Neighbourhood policing officers are more effective on visible patrols rather than sat in the office."

One woman, Mrs Gardener, reported receiving death threats after catching youths in her garden, saying "We have all been saying something like this was going to happen for months."

"Parents around here are in uproar. Every time our kids go out we don't know what will happen to them."

Witnesses heard Jack repeatedly begging "Leave me alone" as he was stabbed by a 14 year boy over what was described as a "silly little argument."

So ten years after New Labour came to power, more and more children are being murdered by other children, knife crime is rocketing among young people and amongst all New Labour's lies the one thing we can be sure of is that Jack Large will not be the last child to die at the hands of other children!
