"The Wild Runts" were schoolchildren who roamed a community like a pack of dogs, leaving neighbours gripped by fear of racial taunts, violence and vandalism!

They hurled bricks into people's homes, scratched cars, started a string of fires, opened sewage pipes, and yelled abuse at the people on the Beech Hill Estate, Wigan and it took months before they were brought to court!

Local Ian Shaw, 43, said: "This used to be a place with real family values, now its hell. These guys pick on the elderly and throw stones and start fires. Even when the Fire Brigade came out and put the blazes out they would start abusing them too."

"They've got such a reputation, kids from other estates are coming over to fight with them. Its like gang warfare. They walk down the street with a key or whatever and scratch every car what is parked on the street." (The Wild Runts)

Years ago, before the advent of NuLab, The Human Rights Act and hundreds of pressure groups screaming that the rights of criminals are sacrosanct, these pieces of vermin would NEVER have been allowed to terrorise a single person let alone a whole neighbourhood!

And the idea that it would take months of effort by the police, council and neighbours and that tens of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money would be wasted, would have been seen as totally insane!

These pieces of human scum would have been brought to account by teachers, parents AND neighbours - and to suggest that anyone who dared to even reprimand them would have been hauled into court and given a criminal record for assault on them would simply have been laughed at!

In those days it was not the innocent who went in fear of children, but children who were taught decency, respect and knew that if they did wrong THEY were the ones who would be punished - and rightly so - but not today!

After decades of softness, Human Rights and pandering to the "protect-a-thug" lobby, all that has been achieved is a society where decent people live in fear of human scum like The "Wild Runts" AND in fear of the law which protects and shields them!
